Our Story
Genki Diner brings together the spirit of Japan and Hawaii through an exciting menu rooted in Japanese culinary tradition. Created in collaboration with James Beard-nominated local Chef Jason Peel, the menu celebrates this connection through elevated Japanese comfort food—from hand rolls and sushi to thoughtfully crafted main plates, starters, and sides.
Our story began in Japan in 1968 and found a second home in Hawaiʻi in 1993. Over the decades, we’ve had the joy of sharing Japanese food and traditions with generations of families. Hawaiʻi has become an important part of who we are, inspiring us with its flavors, culture, and warm spirit of aloha. Today, we bring these two worlds together in everything we create.
